CALL or WRITE
Governor Dayton and your local senators and representatives need to hear from you. You can support licensed family child care as independent small business owners by adding your voice to the conversation.  The union will continue moving forward with their effort through the legislature.  Develop a relationship with your area legislators so they know what is important to you and why you do not support the unionizing your child care business.

Your story,  your experience...

Consider sharing your experience with a union organizer during the visit to your child care home.  Remember, do not sign anything unless you know exactly what it is for.  Is it a membership card? Is it a pledge of support? Is it authorization to deduct dues?  Is it for more information?  Ask specific questions!  If you are not clear, ask to have the card for review so you have the chance to read all the language printed.

Your information will not be reprinted on this website.  We will keep your story for our work with legislators, the governor, and will forward stories to MLFCCA, our state child care association, who has acted as a liason with the union.  (Please note that MLFCCA maintains a neutral position with regard to the formation of child care unions and hears both sides of the union issue.)

If you want your card back from your respective union go to the "That Card You Signed..." page for directions on how to get your card back.
